This hotel doesn't have ice machines so we had to go back downstairs with the ice box from the freezer so that a staff person could put ice into it from the kitchen. The fridge made a loud humming noise the entire stay and the ice maker was not working. Dishes and side of garbage can were disgustingly dirty. One of the lights in the kitchen didn't work. By the time you finished your shower, you were standing in 3 inches of water. The shower curtain had mold on it and the shower itself drained very slowly. That was the first indicator that the cleaning was either rushed or not done at all. When we first got to our room, one of the kids found a pair of men's shorts on the bedroom floor. We stayed in the 2 bedroom executive suite which was just shy of $1500 for 2 nights. We brought my 9 and 13 year old nieces down for their first concert and liked that it was near the stadium for safety reasons and convenience. Everything else was extremely disappointing for the money that was spent. The only positive things to say about this hotel are the location and size of the rooms. Go to one of the hotels across the street. At 1AM, there was still a line out the door of people trying to check in for rooms they paid for starting hours ago. I'm sure he had been, and that part stinks for him. When I asked what the rate would be since they were checking us in well after midnight, ”Chris” sneered and said he wasn't ”in the mood” as he had already been yelled at today. We were yelled at to get in the regular line, as no Marriott Elite service was available. At midnight, we returned to the hotel and tried to get a key for the second room we had already paid for. We paid for a suite, but instead got ready in a communal bathroom with hundreds of other misplaced guests. We did it with no apology, no emotion, literally zero human communication that recognized what a mess this was. They suggested we get ready for the concert in the lobby bathroom. We tried to check in at 230, which as a Platinum member would never be an issue anywhere. This was likely their busiest weekend of 2023 so an actual manager and extra housekeeping staff would have been appropriate. They left a very inexperienced ”supervisor” in charge of the hotel and the result was a cluster. However, this large hotel seemed confused, confounded and dazed at the number of paid guests who showed up today. Taylor has been coming to Pittsburgh for almost a year. So I am very used to very good service at Marriotts. To start, I am a Platinum member for many years. This is the first and only time I've written a review of a Marriott.
